The school day will be packed full with opportunities for our pupils to learn, explore, experiment, discover and be active. We believe that engaged, happy children learn better and develop a thirst for learning. We will emulate what is achieved in many local primary schools; an environment that is safe, secure and supportive to the needs of the young people in our care.
The Academy will follow a standard day, with a two-week timetable and with plenty of opportunities for pupils to join clubs and sports activities where they will be encouraged to try new activities to identify and develop their talents.
Our vision is for an Academy, which provides equality of opportunity for all in partnership with the whole community, seeking to promote and develop every young person to their full potential .
We will, as far as possible, tie in our school day with the timings and timetable for North Halifax Grammar School. This will allow the students of both schools access to a much wider range of opportunities than either school could afford on its own. Many NHGS students already volunteer in local primary schools to very good effect and we look forward to regular interactions between the students of the two schools.
